The formal inauguration of the members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term occurred on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the DPR/MPR building located in Senayan, Jakarta. During this event, 152 representatives from 38 provinces across Indonesia were officially sworn in as members of the DPD for this term. The DPD serves a crucial function as a state institution in Indonesia, representing regional interests at the national level. Its duties encompass submitting proposals, considerations, and opinions regarding legislative drafts (RUU) put forth by the House of Representatives (DPR). Additionally, the DPD has the authority to offer feedback or suggest amendments to legislative proposals that have a significant impact on the regions. The swearing-in ceremony for the DPD members for the 2024-2029 term was presided over by the interim Speaker of the Council, selected from a group of six representatives, which included both the youngest and oldest members. The three youngest representatives in the Regional Representative Council, listed by age, are: - Larasati Moriska, Electoral District of Kalimantan Utara (22 years old) - Cerint Iralloza Tasya, S.Ked., Electoral District of Sumatera Barat (23 years old) - Ratu Tenny Leriva, S.Ked., Electoral District of Sumatera Selatan (24 years old) In contrast, the three oldest members, listed by age, are as follows: - Drs.
