Sinar Mas Land is collaborating with PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) as the initiator and PT Subur Brother for asphalt processing. In 2024, Sinar Mas Land targets to lay 12.2 kilometers of asphalt roads in the Deltamas City area. This initiative is equivalent to utilizing 52.4 tons of plastic waste scraps and reducing carbon emissions by 94.3 tons of CO2. The President Director of PT Puradelta Lestari Tbk and CEO Commercial National of Sinar Mas Land - Hongky J. Nantung stated, "Sinar Mas Land is always committed to making real efforts to address environmental issues. The use of asphalt made from plastic waste is a concrete solution to tackle the plastic waste problem in Indonesia. This is also in line with the vision of Deltamas City to become an environmentally friendly residential, commercial, and industrial area that implements sustainable development. The construction of roads made from processed plastic waste asphalt will continue until July 2024 and will proceed for the asphalt process in the Deltamas City area in the future." Director of Legal, External Relations, & Circular Economy of Chandra Asri Group - Edi Riva'i stated, "We are pleased to collaborate again with Sinar Mas Land in implementing plastic asphalt innovation in accordance with the Circular Economy principle as an effort to manage low-value plastic waste, such as plastic bags, into economically valuable items that have an impact on the environment to achieve sustainability. Since 2018, Chandra Asri Group has been using asphalt mixed with plastic waste through the 'Plastic Asphalt for Indonesia Asri' program in collaboration with various parties. We hope that what Sinar Mas Land and Chandra Asri Group have done can inspire more institutions to proactively adopt the use of Plastic Asphalt." Previously, Sinar Mas Land and PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) successfully completed an 8.6-kilometer asphalt road project in the BSD City area. This initiative is equivalent to utilizing 164.2 million plastic bags or 410.57 tons of plastic waste from the landfill. The collaboration achievement between Sinar Mas Land and Chandra Asri Group has also made BSD City the first township in Indonesia to utilize plastic asphalt. The implementation of using asphalt made from plastic waste in Kota Deltamas aligns with Sinar Mas Land's vision to create an environmentally friendly area. Kota Deltamas is built with low pollution industrial standards as all tenants are required to control air pollution, noise, and liquid waste. Kota Deltamas is also gradually transitioning to using electric vehicles for company operations. These efforts are made to support the government's target of achieving net zero emissions by 2060. Kota Deltamas also saves energy by using LED lights and hybrid street lights with solar panels, even the electricity supply in the Marketing Office of Kota Deltamas comes from 100% renewable energy. In terms of accessibility, Kota Deltamas has direct toll access to Jakarta-Cikampek, precisely at KM 37 and access to the South Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at KM 31. Additionally, Kota Deltamas is integrated with the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB) station, which is planned to be connected by 2025.
