PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or Telkom for short, is stepping up to reduce its carbon footprint by leveraging technology. Through its Indigo program, Telkom is nurturing the startup Automa and providing funding support aimed at cutting down carbon emissions through sustainable practices in the supply chain industry.

Automa, a standout in the Indigo program, is leading the charge in using Internet of Things (IoT) technology within the supply chain sector. The startup has experienced rapid growth and is dedicated to harnessing technology to optimize and decarbonize Indonesia's supply chain. By utilizing Automa, companies can boost operational efficiency through better route planning and optimal fuel usage, which can lower operational costs by 15-20% thanks to improved logistics management.

"Telkom is committed to tackling climate change and building a healthier future through technology. With the Indigo program, we actively support innovative startups that offer real solutions for sustainable carbon footprint reduction. We believe that by collaborating, we can create a more eco-friendly digital ecosystem for society and drive economic growth," said Telkom's Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid.

The funding provided by Indigo, part of Leap Telkom Digital, is being used by Automa to enhance its products and services, allowing for more comprehensive and innovative solutions. Automa delivers a range of eco-friendly solutions for businesses by utilizing IoT technology.

One of the key offerings from Automa is its Transportation Management System, which incorporates IoT. This solution helps startups track their fleet's location, speed, and condition, monitor fleet statistics in real-time, optimize routes, and manage logistics to reduce CO2 emissions.

Another service, Carbon Tracking, is designed to help companies hit their carbon reduction goals, boost efficiency, and strengthen their supply chains. Plus, Automa offers Energy Modelling services that assist in crafting more effective energy-saving strategies and optimizing the use of renewable energy. "We're thrilled to partner with Telkom through the Indigo program. Their support will help us speed up the development of IoT technology for the supply chain industry and create a more sustainable supply chain in Indonesia," said Automa's Founder, Alfonsus Arista Tefa. Since its launch in 2013, the Indigo incubation program has become a key player in Indonesia's digital startup ecosystem. Indigo has incubated and accelerated over 200 local startups across various sectors. This program showcases Telkom's commitment to nurturing digital startups in Indonesia, leading to new job opportunities, boosting the digital economy, and enhancing global competitiveness. Telkom is also dedicated to environmental preservation by actively supporting startups focused on green technology and decarbonization solutions to reduce carbon footprints in Indonesia. Beyond Indigo, Leap Telkom Digital also encompasses other digital products and services from Telkom.
