Prabowo At The Regional Head Retreat Reception: We Are Servants And Servants Of The People

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reiterated that the elected regional heads are servants and servants of the people. 

The President conveyed this during a retreat dinner at the Military Academy (Akmil) Magelang, Central Java, Thursday. 

In front of the regional heads present, Prabowo explained that the purpose of the retreat was to get to know each other and build cooperation between regional heads. 

"I convey and I reiterate, you have become state officials, all of you are mayors, deputy mayors, regents, deputy regents, governors, and deputy governors. You were all elected by the people. You are servants of the people, servants of the people, leaders of the people," said Prabowo in his remarks before the regional heads at the dinner held at the Husein Restaurant, Military Academy. Prabowo stated that all regional heads present had different backgrounds, regions, regional languages, customs, tribes, ethnic groups, and religions. 

However, with the election of regional heads and undergoing a series of retreat activities, Prabowo emphasized that all state officials, both the President, ministers, and regional heads, who attended were part of the big family of the Indonesian nation. "We have been destined to become one nation, one country. We have become one Indonesian nation," said Prabowo. 

Although the retreat has only been held twice, namely during the briefing of ministers and heads of institutions to regional heads, the President admitted that he had not yet perfectly organized the event. 

On the other hand, the Head of State received a report from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian that the atmosphere created and built during the retreat was quite good, enthusiastic, harmonious, and friendly. According to Prabowo, the advantage of the Indonesian nation is that it always seeks a path of deliberation if there are differences of opinion or misunderstandings. 

"Maybe some of us have had conflicts, but we always seek a good path. We always seek a path of deliberation. We always seek a peaceful path. We always seek the best for our nation, country, and people," said Prabowo. 

The dinner was an important part of a series of regional head retreats that were expected to further strengthen cooperation between leaders, strengthen national solidarity, and encourage synergy in realizing a more advanced Indonesia. The dinner was also attended by the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, the Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani, the Chairman of the DPR RI Puan Maharani, the Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, as well as ministers and heads of institutions who are members of the Red and White Cabinet.
