President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, addressed various topics during his speech at the Opening of the XVIII Congress of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). In his speech, which lasted over 30 minutes, Prabowo touched upon the influence of the seventh President, Joko Widodo, on his political career, as well as the budget efficiency policies that have faced criticism. Learning Politics from Jokowi

During his address, Prabowo acknowledged that he has learned a great deal about politics from Jokowi. "Indeed, when it comes to politics, I have learned from Mr. Jokowi," Prabowo stated at the Opening of the XVIII Congress of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Surabaya, East Java, on Monday, February 10, 2025, as observed on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

He cited his recent acquaintance with the newly elected Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, which was facilitated by Jokowi ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election. Prabowo admitted that he initially did not know Khofifah well. "I was not very close to Mrs. Khofifah; I only met her recently, just before the presidential election, right, Mrs. Khofifah?" he remarked. "It was Mr. Jokowi who asked me to meet with Mrs. Khofifah. Is that correct?" Prabowo added.

Divided from Jokowi

Furthermore, President Prabowo mentioned that there are individuals attempting to create a rift between him and the father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The Chairman of the Gerindra Party did not take this matter seriously, viewing it instead as a source of amusement. "There are those who want to separate me from Mr. Jokowi. It is quite amusing and can be a topic for laughter," Prabowo commented.

However, he urged the public not to allow themselves to be divided. He emphasized that those who seek to create division do not have the best interests of Indonesia at heart. "No, we should not allow ourselves to be divided. Division is the work of those who do not care for Indonesia," he stated. He called for the disregard of any efforts aimed at fracturing the unity of the nation.
