Wednesday, 05 Feb 2025

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), along with officials from the Ministry of Public Works and the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN), at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

This meeting served as a follow-up discussion regarding the progress of IKN development.

“Certainly, we hope to continue the development with several adjustments and priorities. We are always faced with budget constraints, as well as various missions and key targets that are part of the national agenda,” stated AHY following the meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday, February 3, 2025.

AHY emphasized that achieving food, energy, and water self-sufficiency, along with improving the quality of life for citizens, will be national priorities for the next five years. Infrastructure, in this context, will play a crucial role in supporting these national objectives.

“This does not imply that infrastructure will be deprioritized. On the contrary, we must reassess our priorities and make necessary adjustments to ensure that the main priorities of national development over the next five years, particularly at the beginning of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, can be effectively supported,” he remarked.

In relation to the IKN development, AHY assured that the project will continue. He noted that the government has allocated a budget for development that will be utilized in phases from 2025 to 2029.

“Concerning IKN, it has been confirmed that the development will proceed, and it has been assured that there will be a budget allocation of approximately IDR 48.8 trillion from 2025 to 2029. This will be utilized according to the phases and plans established from the outset,” he revealed.
