The administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has reached its first 100 days in office since their inauguration on October 20, 2024. During this initial period, the primary focus of the government appears to be on political consolidation, aimed at maintaining stability and accelerating the implementation of priority programs. This consolidation involves internal efforts to align a large cabinet while also fostering harmony with external political forces. The measures taken thus far have been deemed successful, although several challenges continue to loom over the government's effectiveness in meeting public expectations. Unifying Political Forces Internally, Prabowo is making concrete efforts to unify the vision and mission of his cabinet. This includes training sessions in Hambalang and a retreat in Magelang, which involve all cabinet members. Coordination and the alignment of visions and missions among ministers have been the main focus during these meetings, especially considering that many ministers also serve as party leaders. "The Prabowo administration is actively engaging in political consolidation both directly and indirectly, given that most of the Coordinating Ministers (or ministers) in his cabinet also hold positions as party chairpersons," stated Agung Baskoro, Executive Director of Trias Politika Strategis, in an interview with Kompas.com on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Externally, the Prabowo-Gibran administration is also seen as successful in building harmony with major parties such as PDI-P. The agreement not to revise the Law on the MPR, DPR, DPRD, and DPD (MD3) serves as evidence of a clear division of roles between Gerindra and PDI-P. "President Prabowo, who is also the Chairperson of Gerindra, has established harmony with PDI-P, as evidenced by the non-revision of the MD3 Law and Puan's return as Chair of the DPR," Agung added. "This indicates a clear division of roles, where PDI-P, as the winner of the legislative elections, holds the Chair of the DPR, while Gerindra, as the presidential election winner, holds the presidency."
