Bank Muamalat Enhances Financial Management For 200 Muhammadiyah Mosques

Tuesday, 21 Jan 2025

PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk, in collaboration with the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah through the Branch Development and Mosque Management Institute (LPCR PM), launched the SEMMUA program on Friday, January 17, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance the management of Muhammadiyah mosques.

With the SEMMUA program, Bank Muamalat is working to improve over 200 mosques in Central Java, Yogyakarta, and Kalimantan that are managed by Muhammadiyah. This collaboration follows a partnership agreement established between Bank Muamalat and the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah, particularly with LPCR PM, in August 2024.

Karno, the Director of Bank Muamalat, emphasized that mosques should serve not only as places of worship but also as community service centers. To achieve this, he believes that mosques need good governance and accountability, with digital financial reporting being a key component.

Through SEMMUA, the bank aims to enhance the management of Muhammadiyah mosques by providing tools for creating transparent and accessible digital financial reports. Karno stated that mosque services will be more effective when integrated with digital and banking ecosystems.

Additionally, the bank supports mosque fundraising through digital transactions. The SEMMUA program offers free account openings and implements the Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) in mosques.

Karno explained that QRIS makes financial transactions at Muhammadiyah mosques more convenient, allowing for digital payments of Zakat, Infaq, Shodaqah, and Wakaf (Ziswaf) as well as donations. All transactions will be recorded in digital financial reports, improving the accountability of mosque financial management.

All Muhammadiyah mosques participating in the SEMMUA program also become referral partners for Hajj, which can provide additional income for mosque operations. Furthermore, this pioneer of Islamic banking in the country offers extra support in the form of facilities and infrastructure for the mosques.

"Muhammadiyah is a strategic partner of Bank Muamalat. This program is expected to strengthen the existing relationship. God willing, this initiative will also enhance the value of Bank Muamalat in empowering Muhammadiyah mosques," said Karno.

The head of LPCR PM PP Muhammadiyah, H. M. Jamaluddin Ahmad, S. Psi, a psychologist, fully supports the implementation of the SEMMUA program to transform, establish, and develop Muhammadiyah mosques into model mosques. This program is also expected to encourage the creation of model mosques at the regional level of Muhammadiyah (PDM), and even at the branch and sub-branch levels.

"Through collaboration with Bank Muamalat, LPCR PM PP Muhammadiyah can realize the tagline of prosperous mosques that prosper others, from our mosques we rise, and whatever the problem, the mosque is the solution," concluded Jamaluddin.
