President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed growing confidence that the economic growth target can be achieved after analyzing the current national economic conditions. "The more I study our economic situation, the more confident I feel. I am optimistic and believe that we will achieve, and perhaps even exceed, an 8 percent growth rate," stated President Prabowo during the National Consolidation Meeting of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jakarta on Thursday evening. The President conveyed that this conviction is felt despite being only in the third month of his tenure as the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia. He acknowledged that many individuals doubt the feasibility of reaching the economic growth target within the five-year period of his administration, which extends to 2029. "Perhaps there are many who are skeptical. One of the weaknesses of the Indonesian elite is a lack of self-confidence; they tend to find joy in others' struggles and difficulty in celebrating their successes. This is our nature. I reflect that perhaps we have been colonized for too long, leading to a sense of inferiority," remarked Prabowo. On the other hand, the President stated that after assuming office and with the support of his Red and White Cabinet ministers, he is optimistic about achieving the economic growth target, even hinting at surprises in the upcoming months. "Since I took office, with the assistance of my ministers, I am positive that we will create significant surprises in the coming weeks and months," the President asserted. To meet this target, President Prabowo emphasized the necessity of efficient economic management based on logical reasoning and accurate calculations. He stressed that wastefulness and inefficient practices must be eliminated. "It is impossible for any organization to survive if expenditures exceed revenues. Therefore, I am determined to lead a government that operates efficiently," the President affirmed.
