KPK Confirms It Will Summon Hasto Kristiyanto Again

Wednesday, 15 Jan 2025

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it will summon PDI-P Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto again as a suspect in the bribery case related to the Interim Replacement (PAW) process and the obstruction of the investigation concerning former PDI-P cadre Harun Masiku. "Will he be called again? Certainly, he will be summoned again," stated KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday, January 13, 2025. Tessa indicated that investigators are currently focused on gathering evidence related to the allegations against Hasto through the testimonies of several witnesses. "The primary focus is on the testimonies of witnesses who have yet to appear and those who will be summoned later regarding both the bribery case and Article 21," she remarked.

Tessa also noted that the KPK has not detained Hasto as investigators still require additional time to question several witnesses who have not yet come forward. "Based on my coordination with the investigators, the individual (Hasto Kristiyanto) will not be detained today because they still need time to examine some witnesses who are yet to appear," she stated. Previously, PDI-P DPP Chairman Ronny Talapessy mentioned that Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto is prepared to face legal proceedings, including any potential detention by the KPK today. "Hasto is fully prepared, standing tall and smiling," Ronny said at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Hasto Kristiyanto arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday at 09:32 AM, traveling in a red tourist bus. Hasto expressed his intention to provide the best possible testimony to the investigators. "I will provide my testimony to the best of my ability," Hasto stated.
