The Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), responded to the perception of legal politicization regarding the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) designation of Hasto Kristiyanto, the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), as a suspect. Cak Imin expressed his belief that no one would dare to engage in such actions. "I believe no one is bold enough to do that. We will just wait for the developments," stated Cak Imin in the Ragunan area of Jakarta on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. This remark was made in response to inquiries about the notion that Hasto's designation as a suspect is politically motivated. Cak Imin expressed both surprise and concern regarding Hasto's legal status, hoping that Hasto would navigate the legal process with patience. "Certainly, we are all surprised and concerned; I hope Mr. Hasto can endure this with patience. We will just wait for the developments," he remarked. Hasto as a KPK Suspect The KPK had previously announced Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect. He is implicated in a case involving alleged bribery related to the replacement of a legislative candidate, Harun Masiku, concerning former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This announcement was made by KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto during a press conference at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday, December 24. He indicated that Hasto attempted to facilitate Harun Masiku's entry into the DPR through the replacement process. Setyo mentioned that Hasto sought a legal opinion from the Supreme Court and worked to ensure that Riezky Aprilia, the candidate who was supposed to enter the DPR, would be replaced by Harun Masiku. "In fact, the invitation letter for Riezky's inauguration was withheld by HK (Hasto Kristiyanto)," Setyo stated. In summary, Hasto was involved in bribing Wahyu, who is a party cadre serving as a KPU commissioner. Setyo noted that Hasto coordinated with Saeful and DT, who had already been designated as suspects, in the bribery scheme directed at Wahyu. Consequently, the KPK has officially named Hasto as a suspect. "The suspect is HK (Hasto Kristiyanto)," he concluded
