Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and Police Chief of Traffic Corps Aan Suhanan inspected four main toll gates out of Jakarta on Tuesday night, December 24. The toll gates checked were Cikupa, Ciawi, Cikampek Utama, and Kalihurip Utama. The inspection aimed to assess the vehicle flow, which is expected to peak today. Jasa Marga reported that from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on December 24, 2024, a total of 64,139 vehicles exited Jakarta through these four toll gates. This is a 21.8% increase compared to a normal day but a 25.9% decrease from the same period in 2023. Although traffic is still manageable, the Minister advised road users to plan their travel times, prepare for congestion, and take care of their health. "Rest if you feel tired, and take enough time to stop at the provided rest areas," said Minister Dudy at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. Details of the vehicle exits include 21,280 vehicles through Cikupa, a 3.6% increase from a normal day and a 20.7% increase from the same period in 2023. Ciawi saw 14,579 vehicles, up 5.4% from a normal day but down 34.8% from last year. At Cikampek Utama, 14,143 vehicles exited, marking a 77.8% increase from a normal day but a 36.6% decrease from 2023. Kalihurip Utama had 14,137 vehicles, a 37.1% increase from a normal day and a 36.6% decrease from the same period last year. Additionally, a survey on potential public movement during the holiday season predicts the second peak of outbound traffic will occur on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, while the return peak is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, January 1-2, 2025. "I recommend traveling before the predicted peak to avoid congestion," advised Minister Dudy. Ahmad Yani, the Acting Director General of Land Transportation, was present at the event, along with Yoga Tri Anggoro, the President Director of PT. Jasa Marga Tollroad Operator, and Fitri Wiyanti, the Operations Director of Jasa Marga.
