Establish The Reference Interest Rate: Here Is The Schedule For The Monthly Meetings Of The BI Board Of Governors Throughout 2025

Bank Indonesia (BI) has established and announced the schedule for the Monthly Board of Governors Meeting (RDG) throughout 2025, as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability in carrying out its responsibilities, particularly in the formulation and determination of policy mix.

"The Monthly RDG serves as the highest decision-making forum to evaluate the policy mix adopted and to set the direction for future policies," stated Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Executive Director and Head of the Communication Department of BI, in Jakarta on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Ramdan noted that the implementation of the BI RDG is governed by Article 43 of Law Number 23 of 1999 concerning Bank Indonesia, which has been amended several times, most recently by Law Number 4 of 2023. This article stipulates that the RDG is to be held at least once a month to establish general policies in the monetary sector. Typically, the BI Monthly RDG is conducted over two consecutive days.

On the first day, Ramdan explained, the Monthly RDG discusses the evaluation results regarding the economic conditions and prospects, financial system stability, payment systems, and integrates options for the policy mix. On the second day, the Monthly RDG focuses on recommendations and the establishment of monetary, macroprudential, and payment system policies within a single policy mix. The complete schedule for the BI Monthly RDG in 2025 is as follows:

1. January (Quarterly Coverage Monthly RDG): January 14-15, 2025

2. February: February 18-19, 2025

3. March: March 18-19, 2025

4. April (Quarterly Coverage Monthly RDG): April 22-23, 2025

5. May: May 20-21, 2025

6. June: June 17-18, 2025

7. July (Quarterly Coverage Monthly RDG): July 15-16, 2025

8. August: August 19-20, 2025

9. September: September 16-17, 2025

10. October (Quarterly and Annual Coverage Monthly RDG): October 21-22, 2025

11. November: November 18-19, 2025

12. December: December 16-17, 2025
