The Central Christmas And New Year Transportation Post For 2024 And 2025 At The Ministry Of Transportation Is Officially Opened

The Deputy Minister of Transportation, Suntana, officially opened the Central Transportation Post for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 at the Ministry of Transportation's headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday morning, December 18. During this event, the Deputy Minister also led a coordination meeting attended by representatives from all technical implementation units of the Ministry and various agencies across Indonesia.

Suntana stated that the purpose of this post is to ensure the smooth management and control of traffic and transportation during the Christmas and New Year period. Additionally, the post aims to facilitate coordination among related agencies and other involved parties, including associations and community organizations.

The post will operate for 19 days, starting from today, December 18, 2024, until January 5, 2025, at the Ministry of Transportation's headquarters in Jakarta. It will close on Monday, January 6, 2024.

"In line with President Prabowo Subianto's directives, the government is committed to providing the best service to the public through coordination and collaboration. The President also urged for disaster preparedness during the rainy season," said the Deputy Minister.

Overall, the Ministry of Transportation has prepared policies for managing mobility during the 2024/2025 holiday season across all modes of transport, including land, sea, air, and rail. The Ministry has ensured the readiness of transportation facilities throughout Indonesia and has prepared backup transport resources as needed.

The Ministry has confirmed the operational readiness of all transport modes by conducting checks on all vehicles to be used. Additionally, there will be restrictions on certain goods transport leading up to peak travel days to reduce queues and congestion, although logistics for essential goods will not be limited.

The Deputy Minister of Transportation emphasizes the importance of maintaining close coordination with all relevant stakeholders and conducting thorough outreach to both staff and the public regarding transportation service policies, safety and security measures, and weather warnings.

"We urge all on-duty personnel to keep communication and coordination strong to ensure smooth operations on the ground. Supervision should be firm yet humane, and public communication must be clear so that the community can understand and accept the policies for effective implementation," said the Deputy Minister.

He stated that with strong coordination and synergy, the transportation services during the Christmas and New Year period are expected to run orderly, smoothly, safely, and securely.

The command post is equipped with a Command Center that allows for online coordination with various field personnel across different regions and monitors passenger flow at transportation hubs. This includes 113 terminals, 23 ferry ports, 264 sea ports, 56 airports, 450 train stations, 42 toll gates, and 48 arterial roads entering and exiting Jabodetabek, along with reports from government agencies during the operation of the command post. Several agencies participating in the command post include the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Communication and Digital, Ministry of Tourism, Korlantas POLRI, BASARNAS, BMKG, KNKT, PT. Jasa Marga (Persero), Astra Infra Toll Nusantara, PT. Jasa Raharja (Persero), PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT. KCIC, PT. PELNI (Persero), PT. Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Perum LPPNPI/AirNav, Senkom Mitra Polri, RAPI, and ORARI.
