Telkomsel, a leading mobile operator, is expanding its 5G network coverage in the Jabodetabek region. This initiative aims to ensure that the community can enjoy an optimal digital experience during the Christmas and New Year celebrations of 2024/2025. The 5G network now encompasses key routes, including Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airports, the Pantai Indah Kapuk 1 and 2 areas, and extends to business and government districts from Pondok Indah to the National Monument. The network expansion will continue progressively to additional major locations across Indonesia. Indra Mardiatna, the Director of Network at Telkomsel, highlighted Jabodetabek as a strategic area with significant 5G smartphone penetration, a high number of roaming service users, and a growing base of 4G users. “With our Hyper 5G network, we provide ultra-fast connectivity with low latency to support digital transformation and create opportunities for progress towards Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045,” Indra stated in an official release received by KompasTekno on Monday, December 9, 2024. Telkomsel's 5G network offers speeds up to four times faster than 4G, the capability to connect more devices, and reduced latency. Since its launch in 2021, Telkomsel has operated over 1,400 5G base transceiver stations (BTS) across 56 cities and regencies in Indonesia. To encourage the adoption of 5G, Telkomsel has introduced various offers, including the Super Seru 5G package with double data starting at IDR 75,000 and bonus data of up to 20 GB for new customers. Telkomsel Halo customers can also enjoy bonus data of up to 20 GB for a monthly fee starting at IDR 100,000, along with bundled 5G smartphone offers with discounts of up to IDR 3.5 million. Through this expansion, Telkomsel aims to meet the public's demand for high-speed connectivity and strengthen digital transformation in Indonesia.
