Investment and Downstream Minister Rosan Roeslani announced that 50 leaders from American companies have pledged to increase their investments in Indonesia.

This commitment was made following their meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 3.

"They expressed their intention to invest more in Indonesia, as they have confidence in President Prabowo's administration, which demonstrates a commitment to continuously enhance the investment climate in Indonesia," Rosan stated after the meeting at the Presidential Palace.

Rosan further noted that Prabowo emphasized his commitment to preventing corruption and other negative factors that could hinder investment in Indonesia. He assured that the rule of law would be strictly enforced to facilitate investment.

This commitment aims to provide a sense of security and protection for investors who have already invested in Indonesia.

"Additionally, we hope to strengthen our human resources, so when they invest, they also contribute to building and enhancing the capacity of our workforce, along with facilitating technology transfer," Rosan added.

On another note, Rosan mentioned that there were 11 questions posed by the business leaders to Prabowo during the meeting. Prabowo responded clearly, reiterating the government's commitment to collaboratively boost economic growth while safeguarding investments.

"They are very excited, as most of them have already invested in Indonesia, and there are also new investments coming in from the mineral oil and gas sectors," he remarked.

Rosan also revealed that ExxonMobil plans to invest in Indonesia through the development of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology, aimed at reducing carbon emissions. ExxonMobil's investment in this sector is projected to be around US$15 billion.

"This was also mentioned by the president director of ExxonMobil," he concluded.
