The Minister of Youth and Sports of Indonesia, Dito Ariotedjo, officially closed the National Conference of the Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) 2024 in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. During this conference, Budisatrio Djiwandono was elected as the Chairman of the Central Board of Perbasi for the 2024-2028 term through acclamation.

"I officially close the National Conference of Perbasi 2024," said Minister Dito in his speech. He congratulated Budisatrio Djiwandono on his election as Chairman and expressed hope that this new leadership will advance basketball in Indonesia.

Minister Dito also praised the election process of Budisatrio, noting that it involved careful thought and sound decisions. "His journey to becoming the Chairman of Perbasi was not short or easy, but the result of thorough and extensive consideration," the Minister stated.

During the conference, Budisatrio shared his vision and mission as the newly elected Chairman, focusing on developing the industry, infrastructure, training, and organizing basketball tournaments in the country. Minister Dito expressed his support for this vision, especially since the basketball industry has great potential as a lifestyle for the wider Indonesian community. "I believe in Mas Budi's leadership, especially with the vision and plans he has presented. Congratulations once again, Mas Budi. May you fulfill your responsibilities well."

Menpora also praised Budisatrio's approach of prioritizing the word "industry" over "achievement" in the vision and mission of Perbasi. According to Dito, this aligns with basketball's status as a well-established sport in Indonesia. "Basketball has great potential to grow into an industry that creates jobs, from sports products to venues and local equipment like hoops and balls, which will ultimately support national basketball achievements," said Menpora.

During the event, Menpora Dito expressed pride in the National Congress that involved management at the district and city levels, and emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the development of the basketball ecosystem and industry in Indonesia.

In addition to appointing the Chairman for the 2024-2028 term, the Congress also unveiled a new logo for Perbasi as a symbol of the organization's renewed vision. The event was attended by the President Director of the Indonesian Basketball League, Junas Miradiarsyah, and the Special Staff of Menpora for Achievement Improvement and Sports Industry Development, Ardima Rama Putra.

With Budisatrio's leadership and full government support, it is hoped that the basketball industry can grow significantly and become an integral part of people's lifestyles while also enhancing national sports achievements.
