Ayom Has Launched A Sunscreen That Is Suitable For Tropical Skin

Friday, 06 Sep 2024

The skincare brand Ayom has launched two sunscreen products: Ayom All Purpose Sunscreen Body Lotion and Ayom All Purpose Sunscreen, both designed to be suitable for tropical skin.

Dr. Olivia Ong, the founder of Ayom, explained that these products have been formulated to accommodate the humid tropical climate of Indonesia.

"Ayom recognizes that any increase in temperature is accompanied by a rise in humidity, which can elevate skin oil production by up to 10 percent, leading to an overgrowth of acne-causing microbes and skin fungi," Dr. Ong stated in a press release on Friday.

She further noted that sunlight and pollution disrupt the balance of the skin microbiome, which serves as the skin's primary defense.

The ozone layer effectively absorbs 100 percent of UVC radiation, 90 percent of UVB radiation, and a small portion of UVA radiation. However, the depletion of the ozone layer due to global warming has resulted in increased UV exposure to human skin.

The primary cause of skin damage is sunlight, with UV radiation being a significant factor. UV radiation can severely impact the skin, leading to premature aging, sunburn, precancerous lesions, and skin cancer, as well as immunosuppression. Notably, UV radiation constitutes only 3-7 percent of sunlight, while Visible Light (VL) accounts for 44 percent and Infrared (IR) radiation makes up 53 percent.

Ayom All Purpose Sunscreen Body Lotion is enriched with Ultra Sensation, allowing for quick absorption and a lightweight feel. It is free from fragrances, dyes, and parabens, ensuring comfort and protection for the body throughout the day.

In addition, Ayom All Purpose Sunscreen is formulated not only to shield the skin from UV, Blue Light, and IR radiation but also to heal and restore the skin after exposure to sunlight and pollution.

Celebrity user Yuni Shara has expressed her appreciation for the lightweight texture of Ayom products when applied to the skin.
