A healthy lifestyle has gained popularity and become a trend among the youth in Wonogiri Regency. In addition to promoting well-being, young individuals are also motivated to engage in physical activities to boost their confidence and alleviate stress. One such individual is Sri Rejeki, a 26-year-old resident of Slogohimo District in Wonogiri. She began exercising regularly during the Covid-19 pandemic three years ago. Prior to that, she admitted to having no interest in physical activity. Her awareness of the need to exercise emerged when she realized her weight was no longer ideal, which affected her self-esteem. Initially, Sri started her fitness journey by working out at home, utilizing various workout tutorials available on YouTube. Over time, she also ventured into running and has recently incorporated weightlifting into her routine at a gym. She allocates approximately Rp150,000 per month for a gym membership located near her home. Sri aims to exercise three to five times a week. "Initially, my goal for exercising was to lose weight. Now, it’s more about maintaining my mental well-being. It serves as a stress reliever. I enjoy working out, and I’ve come to realize that my body needs more movement. The difference in my lifestyle before and after starting to exercise is significant," Sri shared during an interview with Espos on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Since committing to regular exercise, Sri has reported feeling more confident than before. She also experiences increased energy levels and less fatigue. Many of her friends have also begun to exercise regularly, albeit without any pressure. Similarly, Zakaria, a 25-year-old resident of Wonogiri District, expressed a comparable experience. He began his fitness routine in 2022, primarily due to a lack of other activities. Additionally, he developed an interest in weightlifting after observing fitness influencers on social media.
