Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana is promoting Indonesia's tourism mission on the international stage during her working visit to Berlin, Germany, from March 4 to 6, 2025. This tourism promotion mission includes Indonesia's participation in the world's largest tourism fair, the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2025. Minister Widiyanti showcased Indonesia's rich tourism offerings while exploring collaboration opportunities through several bilateral meetings with Indonesian partners, including Gloria Guevara, a candidate for Secretary-General of UN Tourism for the 2026-2029 term from Mexico; Dieter Janecek and Dr. Marion Weber from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany; and Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of UN Tourism from Georgia for 2018-2025. During these bilateral discussions, Minister Widiyanti presented five flagship programs of the Ministry of Tourism, which include the Clean Tourism Movement, Tourism 5.0 through AI and Digitalization, Upgraded Tourism focusing on gastronomy, marine, and wellness tourism, Hosting Events with Original Indonesian Intellectual Property (IP), and Village Tourism. "Looking ahead, I am very optimistic that collaboration with various stakeholders in the tourism sector can be strengthened to further enhance tourism's contribution to Indonesia's economic growth," stated Minister Widiyanti in a press release received on Sunday, March 9. During her working visit, Minister Widiyanti also had the opportunity to visit several restaurants offering traditional Indonesian food and beverages. One of the establishments she visited was "Makan Enak," which serves a variety of authentic dishes with distinctive Indonesian flavors. In addition to sampling various menu items, Widiyanti engaged in direct discussions with the restaurant's owners, Angela and Sia, about their efforts to promote Indonesian cuisine in Berlin, Germany.
