The Global GenAI Report states that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) landscape will experience major changes worldwide. Data shows that 97% of CEOs expect this technology to have a significant impact on the industry. Meanwhile, 99% of companies plan to invest in GenAI. Indonesia is a country that is growing rapidly in the application of information technology. This can be seen from various digital transformations in government and industrial sectors. The demand for cloud, cybersecurity, and data analytics is increasing sharply, and AI integration is a major driver. NTT Data Indonesia CEO Hendra Lesmana said that a successful AI strategy requires more than just a plan, it also requires deep integration with overall business goals. and a culture that supports the alignment of AI initiatives with business goals. In the APAC region, Indonesia is one of the fastest growing countries in the IT services market with high double-digit annual growth, and we are at a critical point where AI integration can redefine the way businesses operate. "By adopting this technology, companies can improve their operational efficiency and create a more agile and responsive business environment," said Hendra. Despite the enthusiasm for AI, there are challenges that companies must face. According to NTT DATA’s Global GenAI Report, the majority of executives, especially Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), expressed concerns about the implications of GenAI for security and privacy. Approximately 45% of CISOs feel pressured and overwhelmed by the rapid advancements in GenAI, highlighting the need for a robust governance framework to mitigate risks. Eight in 10 respondents remain uncertain about the tangible benefits of GenAI for their operations, and only 43% strongly agree that existing GenAI solutions meet their expectations. This uncertainty highlights the importance of responsible GenAI-powered innovation that prioritizes ethics, security, and sustainability. Over the next three years, the potential for AI to transform core enterprise strategies is enormous. Businesses that adopt this technology will improve their operational efficiency and position themselves as leaders in their respective industries.
