Telkom (TLKM) Is Participating In The MBG Program And Is Preparing A Monitoring Application

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM) is developing an application to monitor the effectiveness of the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program. Andri Sasongko, the Vice President of Corporate Telecommunication at Telkom, stated that all state-owned enterprises may receive specific assignments from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to participate in the success of the MBG program. From Telkom's perspective, Andri mentioned that the company will prepare an application to oversee the distribution of free nutritious food. This application will be managed under Telkomsel, a subsidiary of Telkom. 

"We have indeed been assigned a task, but it is through Telkomsel. We are creating a powerful application that can monitor [MBG]," Andri revealed during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday, February 7, 2025.  

Andri noted that this assignment is linked to Telkom's role during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the company was involved in developing the PeduliLindungi application, which served to track individuals' movements and the vaccination status of the Indonesian population. Regarding the role and functionality of Telkom's application in the MBG program, Andri was unable to provide details as it is still in the preparation stage. "It is currently being prepared," he stated.  

Previously, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) indicated that accelerating the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program requires additional funding. Currently, only 0.8% of the target 82.9 million beneficiaries for 2025 have been reached. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana mentioned that if President Prabowo Subianto calls for acceleration, it will certainly involve additional budget allocations. Furthermore, President Prabowo aims for all beneficiaries to receive the MBG program by the end of 2025. "If the acceleration of the [MBG] program is to be implemented, there will definitely be additional funds depending on when it is carried out," Dadan told Bisnis on Thursday, February 6, 2025. However, Dadan emphasized that the President and the Minister of Finance possess a comprehensive understanding of the funding sources for the MBG program.
