Thursday, 30 Jan 2025

The technology company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) represented the national technology sector at the Indonesia-India Business Forum (CEO Forum) held in New Delhi, India, on January 25, 2025. GoTo participated alongside representatives from various businesses affiliated with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), including Pertamina, PLN, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Bukaka, and others.

This forum serves as a follow-up to the second India-Indonesia CEO Forum, which took place in 2018 during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jakarta, where he met with the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"I am proud to represent the domestic technology industry in discussions on this high-level dialogue platform between business leaders from both countries, and to present recommendations for the digital sector to support the growth of Indonesia and India," stated GoTo's CEO Patrick Walujo in a statement on Sunday, January 26, 2024.

In the technology sector, discussions at this forum will concentrate on the development of artificial intelligence (AI), strengthening the digital economy, and innovative fintech solutions. With its expertise in digital and financial technology, GoTo is expected to act as a catalyst for fostering collaboration between Indonesia and India.

"At GoTo, we view India as a crucial partner in our growth. Together, we can develop technologies that not only drive growth for our businesses but also have a positive and sustainable impact across the region," Patrick remarked.

Patrick also shared GoTo's experience in developing Sahabat-AI, an open-source Large Language Model (LLM) in Indonesian, designed to understand local contexts and bridge gaps not addressed by global AI models.
