The Market Share Of Tecno Smartphones Is Reported To Have Increased, Highlighting The Best-selling Series Of Mobile Phones

Several research institutions have indicated that the global mobile phone market is experiencing improvement. Overall, the global smartphone market has increased by approximately 4 percent. The Indonesian mobile vendor, Tecno, has also reported a rise in its market share within Indonesia, although it has not specified the percentage increase for 2024 compared to 2023. "It has improved compared to last year (2023)," stated Anthoni Roderick, PR Manager of Tecno Indonesia, during an interview with KompasTekno at the launch event of the Tecno Spark 30 Pro on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Anthoni noted that the Tecno Spark Go 1 has significantly contributed to Tecno's sales in Indonesia. This smartphone was launched in the country in October 2024 at a price of approximately IDR 900,000. The affordable price of the Tecno Spark Go 1 has evidently attracted consumer interest in Indonesia. "Until the end of the year, since we recently launched the Spark Go 1 along with the Spark 30C, we can say that the enthusiasm for the Spark Go 1 has been quite good, compared to the Pova 6," he remarked. 

According to Anthoni, this smartphone has also helped the Spark series surpass the Pova series, which had been the best-selling phone until October 2024. "One could say that the Spark series has taken the lead in sales, surpassing the Pova series," he added. The factors contributing to the popularity of the Tecno Spark Go 1, as explained by Anthoni, include its robust durability. The smartphone is equipped with dust and water resistance certification, boasting an IP54 rating. Additionally, the Tecno Spark Go 1 is claimed to withstand drops from a height of up to one meter. "We have designed a phone with strong durability that can endure accidental drops from up to one meter, all within the price range of approximately IDR 900,000," he stated. 

Anthoni revealed that the sales performance of the Spark series has been notably positive in 2024 compared to the Pova series. However, the individual sales percentages of each series remain undisclosed. Some smartphones from the Spark series released in Indonesia last year include the Spark 30C, Spark Go 1, and the Spark 20 Pro series, which debuted in early 2024.
