Baznas Encourages Fundraisers To Utilize Technology In Order To Enhance Their Services

Monday, 06 Jan 2025

The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia encourages fundraisers to optimize the use of digital technology in zakat management to enhance service delivery.

This statement was made by Nadratuzzaman Hosen, the Head of National Digital Transformation at Baznas, during his speech at the Fundraising Development Program (FDP) in Jakarta on Thursday.

"Fundraisers must leverage digital technology to provide better services to both zakat givers and recipients," Nadratuzzaman stated in a written communication. To support digital transformation, Baznas has introduced various applications designed to facilitate services for zakat givers, including the Baznas Information Management System (Simba), Simbalite, Digital Office, Mosque Tower, Simba-UPZ, and Cinta Zakat.

Nadratuzzaman emphasized that the implementation of technology and keeping pace with its developments are essential for enhancing transparency and professionalism, while also adhering to the principles of sharia compliance, regulatory safety, and national security (3A).

"Therefore, by utilizing technology, we must enhance work efficiency and expand Baznas's outreach," he remarked. He noted that the first skill fundraisers should acquire is communication. This enables fundraisers to understand the media and strategies necessary for conveying messages that are easily comprehensible to the public.

"Our message is to facilitate zakat, infak, and sedekah (ZIS) contributions from zakat givers," he added.

He also stressed the importance of understanding the services provided to zakat givers to ensure that Baznas maintains public trust.

The Fundraising Development Program (FDP) is attended by Baznas RI staff and representatives from provincial, district, and city Baznas offices. This program will run for three months, from December 2024 to February 2025.
