In the context of globalization and digital transformation, technological advancements present significant opportunities for enhancing law enforcement, while simultaneously introducing new challenges related to data security, privacy, the development of criminal cases through information technology, and the adaptation of legal systems to technological progress. This was articulated by Brigadier General TNI Dr. Arudji Anwar, S.H., M.H., Acting Deputy for Legal Coordination and Human Rights at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam), during his address at the Law Enforcement Coordination Forum themed “Projections of Law Enforcement through Information Technology in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN),” held in Jakarta on Monday, December 23, 2024. He emphasized that the strategic plans and implementation of technology-based legal systems are expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement, as well as strengthen the synergy among ministries and agencies in the enforcement of law and the judicial system in Indonesia. Furthermore, the Acting Deputy for Legal Coordination and Human Rights noted that the 2019-2024 RPJMN and the 2025-2029 Technocratic Draft mandate the application of criminal law enforcement supported by information technology. One of the initiatives includes the Integrated Criminal Case Handling System based on Information Technology, abbreviated as SPPT-TI. “This event is conducted to ensure that participants can comprehend the planning and implementation of technology-based law enforcement moving forward, as well as evaluate the application of electronic documents/files within SPPT-TI in 2024, alongside projections for SPPT-TI in 2025,” Arudji asserted. The meeting was attended by representatives from Kemenko Polkam, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Ministry of Communication and Digital, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, the Attorney General's Office, the Indonesian National Police, the Corruption Eradication Commission, the National Narcotics Agency, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center, and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency.
