MediaTek is set to unveil its latest chipset on December 23, 2024. This chipset is anticipated to be the Dimensity 8400, the successor to the Dimensity 8300 released the previous year.

In a post on Weibo, MediaTek announced that the launch event will take place at 3:00 PM local time in China

Although the name of the new chipset has not been officially disclosed, various rumors suggest that the Dimensity 8400 will be the flagship product introduced.

Reports indicate that this chipset utilizes a 4nm process from TSMC, featuring a 1+3+4 architecture configuration. It is claimed that the processor can achieve scores exceeding 1.8 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark platform.

The Dimensity 8400 is expected to include a primary core operating at 3.25GHz, three additional cores at 3.0GHz, and four more cores at 2.1GHz.

The GPU is likely to be the Immortalis-G720 MC7, positioning it as a formidable competitor to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

The Redmi Turbo 4 is reported to be the first smartphone to utilize this chipset. The device is scheduled for release in China in January 2025 and may be marketed globally under the name Poco X7.

According to Gadgets360.com on Thursday, December 19, 2024, it is also rumored that the Oppo Find X8S and Redmi K80E will feature the same chipset.

With a starting price of CNY 1,500 (approximately IDR 3.3 million), this chipset is expected to deliver high performance at an affordable price.
