Binus University Opens Campus In Medan, Introduces Two New Programs

Bina Nusantara University, commonly referred to as Binus University, is set to expand its reach by establishing a campus in Medan, North Sumatra. "We have been present in nearly every province in Java to provide quality education. Now, we are coming to Medan to support the development and progress in the region," stated Stephen Wahyudi Santoso, BSE, MSIST, CBDMP, President of BINUS Higher Education & Professional Services, during a media gathering at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday, November 25, 2024. The establishment of Binus in Medan is part of the Binus 2035 strategy, aimed at delivering quality educational services in major cities across Indonesia.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, M.M, Vice President of Binus Higher Education, noted that each year, approximately 500 students from North Sumatra enroll at Binus Jakarta. Furthermore, the conditions and potential for growth in Medan are viewed as favorable opportunities for Binus to launch a campus there.

"From a business perspective, the business behavior and the openness of the Medan community in seeking educational access often lead them abroad. Therefore, Binus is also preparing programs in Digital Business and International Trading. These two programs will serve as new strengths for Binus to support progress in Medan," he explained.

Classes at Binus Medan are scheduled to commence in September 2025, offering five distinguished study programs: Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Business, International Trade, and Visual Communication Design. Digital Business and International Trade are two new majors introduced by Binus. Located in Delipark Mall, Medan, the Binus Medan admission center will provide easier access for the local community to enroll and obtain quality education at Binus University.
