Qatar Airways, recognized as the largest global airline to incorporate Starlink’s high-speed internet service on board, has reached a significant milestone with the installation of Starlink on its 30th aircraft, thereby equipping over 50 percent of its Boeing 777 fleet. This accomplishment follows just four months after the airline introduced the world’s first Boeing 777 flight equipped with Starlink and two months after exceeding its initial 2024 goal of 12 installations by enhancing 15 aircraft with Starlink connectivity.

In a remarkable advancement over its competitors, Qatar Airways has expedited its Starlink deployment, reducing the installation time for each aircraft from three or two days to a mere 9.5 hours, thereby decreasing the retrofit duration by nearly three-quarters of the original timeline. The airline has meticulously scheduled these installations to occur within a 12-hour overnight window, ensuring that operations and flight schedules remain unaffected.

Voted the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, Qatar Airways initially aimed to complete the installations over a two-year period. However, through process optimization, the airline is set to finish the full rollout across its Boeing 777 fleet by the second quarter of 2025. This initiative will enable more passengers to remain connected at no additional cost during their travels, allowing them to stream their favorite shows and live sports, engage in online gaming, or work efficiently at an altitude of 35,000 feet.

During the Web Summit Qatar 2025, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr.
