Thursday, 06 Feb 2025

PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk continues to show its commitment to providing easy access to Islamic banking services for institutions. Recently, this first fully Islamic bank in Indonesia formed a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI).

This partnership was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Kemenag RI Secretary General Muhammad Ali Ramdani and Bank Muamalat Director Karno at the Kemenag RI office in Jakarta.

Karno mentioned that there are several areas of cooperation agreed upon by both parties. First, the distribution of the State Budget (APBN) funds and the provision of payment systems to support government spending. Second, the storage and management of Kemenag RI funds through deposit products, checking accounts, virtual accounts, and Bank Muamalat's Cash Management System services.

"We hope to provide convenient Islamic banking services to Kemenag RI. This step is also part of our strategy to acquire payroll customers, especially in the Civil Servant (ASN) segment, as Bank Muamalat was appointed as the Salary Disbursement Bank (BPG) for ASN by the Ministry of Finance in 2023," said Karno.

Through this collaboration, the pioneering Islamic bank in the country will offer salary payment services for Kemenag RI ASN. Employees of Kemenag RI with salary accounts at Bank Muamalat will be able to access home ownership financing (KPR), multipurpose loans, and other facilities from Bank Muamalat.

According to Karno, other areas of cooperation include services for depositing non-tax state revenues. Bank Muamalat will also provide bank notes (SAR) to support Kemenag RI's work programs. Both parties have also agreed on the utilization of the Public Service Agency (BLU) owned by Kemenag RI.

Bank Muamalat offers internship opportunities through Muamalat Indonesia Kompeten (MIKO) for university students, supervised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, said Karno.

MIKO is an internship program that allows final-year students to learn and work at Bank Muamalat.
