The Ministry of Trade, along with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), is ready to collaborate in supporting exports from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The Ministry of Trade has launched the MSMEs Dare to Innovate, Ready to Adapt for Export program (MSMEs BISA Export). This program can be combined with initiatives from the Ministry of SOEs and various SOEs. This was discussed during a meeting between Trade Minister Budi Santoso, also known as Mendag Busan, and SOEs Minister Erick Thohir today, Friday, January 24, in Jakarta. Mendag Busan expressed hope that the collaboration with the Ministry of SOEs will strengthen support for the MSMEs BISA Export program. “We met with the SOEs Minister today to seek support for the MSMEs BISA Export program. We see that the Ministry of SOEs has provided significant support to MSMEs, from training to funding. This is what we need to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs so they can export globally,” said Mendag Busan after the meeting. Mendag Busan also hopes for a closer partnership between the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of SOEs. This collaboration is essential to help more MSMEs reach international markets. It will also encourage more MSMEs supported by the Ministry of SOEs to join the MSMEs BISA Export program. Meanwhile, SOEs Minister Erick Thohir stated that the programs from both ministries that focus on MSMEs have great potential for synergy. He believes that existing opportunities should be maximized to help MSMEs go international. “We see the potential for synergy between the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Trade, especially regarding MSMEs going international. We will work to maximize this. The Ministry of SOEs can participate in the export ecosystem created by the Ministry of Trade. Many SOEs have been supporting the development of MSMEs,” said Minister Erick. The MSMEs BISA Export program is one of the three priority programs of the Ministry of Trade. Many state-owned enterprises (BUMN) have been supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises (UMKM), said Minister Erick. The UMKM BISA Export program is one of the three priority initiatives of the Ministry of Trade. This program involves UMKM supported by companies and their subsidiaries, as well as the State Banks Association (Himbara), which focuses on exports. Through the UMKM BISA Export program, UMKM participants can engage in various promotional activities and business matching with trade representatives from Indonesia abroad, including Trade Attachés and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center. The program allows UMKM to take part in promotional events and buyer searches. UMKM participants can also join pitching sessions with trade representatives, where they present their products to highlight their strengths and market opportunities in different countries. After these presentations, trade representatives will seek potential buyers abroad and facilitate business matching for the UMKM participants.
