PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and PT Suryalaya Anindita International, the owner and operator of Melia Bali Hotel, have officially extended their Land Utilization & Land Development Agreement (LUDA) for Lot N1 in The Nusa Dua area of Bali. This took place on Tuesday, January 7, at Gran Melia Hotel in Jakarta. The agreement, which has been in place for nearly 50 years from April 18, 1983, to April 17, 2033, will be extended for an additional 30 years, ending on April 17, 2063. There is also an option for a further extension of 20 years until April 17, 2083, potentially bringing the total partnership duration to 100 years. This extension highlights PT Suryalaya Anindita International's confidence in ITDC and the potential of The Nusa Dua area as a premier tourist destination in Indonesia. The ongoing collaboration aims to strengthen The Nusa Dua's position as an international tourism hub, significantly contributing to the growth of the national tourism industry. Melia Hotels and Resorts, one of the first five hotels established in The Nusa Dua, is currently undergoing a complete renovation to become Paradisus by Melia Bali. This transformation is part of a strategic effort to support the rejuvenation of hotel properties in The Nusa Dua area, enhance accommodation service standards, and maintain competitiveness in the global tourism industry. ITDC's Commercial Director, Troy Warokka, stated that this partnership not only demonstrates the success of the long-term collaboration between ITDC and PT Suryalaya Anindita International but also reflects their shared commitment to continuously improve the quality of services and facilities in The Nusa Dua area. The presence of Paradisus by Melia Bali is expected to add significant value, enhancing the area's appeal as a world-class tourist destination while also boosting local and national economic growth through a stronger tourism sector. This extended partnership aims to improve the quality of services and facilities at Paradisus by Melia Bali, attracting more tourists from both domestic and international markets. This effort is also intended to strengthen The Nusa Dua's position as a premier tourist destination offering world-class accommodation experiences. Meanwhile, Johannes Suriadjaja, President Director of PT Suryalaya Anindita International, expressed, "We are very pleased to continue this partnership before the Land Utilization & Land Development Agreement (LUDA) expires." He noted that PT Suryalaya Anindita International, a subsidiary of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), has demonstrated its commitment to the hospitality sector by managing two five-star hotels: Melia Bali Hotel in The Nusa Dua area and Gran Meliá Jakarta in South Jakarta. "We are currently undergoing a complete renovation, including product upgrades, transforming Melia Bali Hotel into Paradisus by Melia Bali. This new brand will not only provide a premium stay experience for both domestic and international travelers but is also expected to enhance accommodation quality in The Nusa Dua area. Additionally, this transformation aligns with efforts to maintain the ecosystem balance in the region, supporting sustainability and competitiveness of this leading tourist destination," he added.
