PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to enhancing financial inclusion, particularly in the education sector. One way this support is shown is through partnerships with various universities. Recently, BCA collaborated with Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) to offer a payment facility for tuition fees using BCA Virtual Account Online via Application Programming Interface (API), in line with the National Open API Payment Standard (SNAP), to facilitate tuition fee payments. The official launch of the BCA and UKDW collaboration took place on Wednesday (December 18) with the signing of a cooperation agreement by representatives from both sides. The event was attended by BCA Director John Kosasih, UKDW Vice Rector for Finance and Asset Development Ambar Kusuma Astuti, S.E., M.Si, Head of Administration and Finance Bureau (Bureau 2) UKDW Lussy Ernawati, S.Kom, M.Acc, YPTK Duta Wacana Manager Ir. Mariam Handayani, VP Cash Management BCA Lenny Kartikasari, along with other management members from BCA and UKDW. BCA Director John Kosasih expressed pride in being part of the effort to create an inclusive digital payment ecosystem at UKDW. He noted that the partnership has strengthened through various supports from both institutions. He hopes that the BCA Virtual Account Online will simplify tuition payments for parents, prospective students, and other related parties. The option to pay UKDW tuition fees via BCA Virtual Account Online has been available since October 18, 2024. This service is also integrated with other financial solutions from BCA through the BCA API, allowing UKDW to monitor, manage, and report funds in an integrated manner. UKDW Vice Rector for Finance and Asset Development Ambar Kusuma Astuti, S.E., M.Si welcomed this collaboration and expressed appreciation for BCA's involvement in providing a convenient and secure payment facility for education. This facility will make it easier for parents and students to make payments for various needs at UKDW. We hope this collaboration marks a positive beginning for UKDW and BCA to continue working together to advance the education sector and enhance financial inclusion in Indonesia, said Ambar. BCA is the first bank in Indonesia to offer API services since 2017. In developing BCA's API, the company collaborates with trusted third parties to ensure that BCA's products and services can be widely used across different ecosystems. The BCA API connection has been aligned with the SNAP standards set by Bank Indonesia. BCA actively seeks to advance education in Indonesia through various programs under the Bakti BCA initiative. Through the Education pillar, BCA has several initiatives in the education sector, including: - BCA Bakti School, - BCA Knowledge Sharing, - Disability Empowerment, - Financial Literacy Education, - BCA Bakti Scholarships, - Capital Market School. Recently, BCA held the peak event for the BCA Bakti Scholarship 2024, involving 700 scholarship recipients. The event, held on November 16, featured an inspiring discussion with BCA Director Lianawaty Suwono and journalist and founder of Narasi, Najwa Shihab. This initiative emphasizes BCA's commitment to not only providing financial support but also guiding outstanding students to become a generation ready to make a positive impact on society.
