Recognizing the potential of students in the Hotel Management program, Ajinomoto, which also offers products for culinary entrepreneurs, held a Food Service Seminar at Binus University on November 21, 2024, in the Restaurant Laboratory at the Anggrek Campus, West Jakarta. This seminar aims to support future culinary entrepreneurs in creating healthier and more profitable product innovations by providing informative facts about MSG, the Smart Salt concept, and various interesting menu ideas for their culinary businesses. During the Food Service Seminar, Binus University Hotel Management students learned about the advantages of Ajinomoto Professional products commonly used in the food service industry, along with comfort food menu inspirations that align with balanced nutrition guidelines and are profitable for future culinary ventures. "This time, Ajinomoto, which also operates in the food service sector, collaborates with Binus University to introduce our products, providing samples for students to use during their cooking practices on campus. We hope this information inspires and motivates aspiring professional chefs to build or enter the culinary business in the future." This is crucial because you all have the potential to shape future culinary trends and present various food creations to consumers. What I share today is part of the effort to reduce the risk of metabolic diseases and hypertension through the Wise Salt concept,” Andalina continued. “The Wise Salt campaign was initiated by Ajinomoto Indonesia to extend healthy life expectancy and encourage a healthy lifestyle in the community by reducing salt usage in daily cooking and replacing it with a small amount of MSG. For example, when cooking chicken soup, instead of using 2 teaspoons of salt for 1 liter of broth, you can change it to 1 teaspoon of salt plus ½ teaspoon of MSG. With this tip, we are already applying the Wise Salt concept. You can live healthier by reducing salt in food preparation while still enjoying delicious flavors. The Wise Salt concept aligns with the recommendations from the Indonesian Ministry of Health regarding the reduction of sugar, salt, and fat intake. Therefore, for those of you aspiring to be culinary entrepreneurs, it is advisable to follow the guidelines on limiting sugar, salt, and fat in your menu creations.
