In one year of collaboration, Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia achieved significant milestones. According to research by Tempo Data Science in partnership with Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia (2024), the synergy between Tokopedia and TikTok through ShopTokopedia boosted the income of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by up to 95%. This reinforces the commitment of both platforms to empower local businesses across Indonesia by leveraging technology, including the promotion of the 'Buy Local' campaign.

The Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Budi Santoso, M.Si., stated, “In 2023, e-commerce transactions reached Rp453 trillion, and it is projected to rise to Rp487 trillion in 2024.”

The number of e-commerce platform users is also on the rise, with 65.65 million users expected in 2024, an 11% increase from the previous year. This shows that e-commerce has become an integral part of people's lives.

The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia has three programs: domestic market protection, export market expansion, and the enhancement of SMEs BISA (Brave Innovation Ready to Adapt) Export. To support local products, strong cooperation among various parties, including the government, business actors, and the community, is essential.

The 'Buy Local' campaign by Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia is a concrete example of how collaboration can help local businesses grow and enhance competitiveness. Let’s work together to advance local products with #UseLocalProducts.

Melissa Siska Juminto, President Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-commerce, mentioned, “On December 12, 2023, coinciding with National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas), Tokopedia entered a new phase by collaborating with TikTok to launch ShopTokopedia and the 'Buy Local' campaign.”

With support from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, the 'Buy Local' campaign continues to showcase the best works from local brands in Indonesia, including Dear Me Beauty, No Void Minds, and Minimal. These businesses are part of millions of sellers on Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia, all based in Indonesia, with most being small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The collaboration between Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia, which has been active for a year, has positively impacted local businesses on both platforms. Research shows that SMEs with accounts on both Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia saw sales increase by up to 118% throughout 2024 (Source: Tempo Data Science Research, 2024).

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the 'Buy Local' campaign, Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia are hosting the 'Buy Local' Challenge, open to all Indonesians. In this competition, they are offering a total of Rp360 million in Tokopedia Gift Card balances to 120 winners, including Rp2 million for 9 daily winners and Rp12 million for 12 grand prize winners.

To highlight the diversity of products created by SMEs, ShopTokopedia is involving 12 businesses from various categories in a 12-day live streaming event. These include food and beverages like salted fish and herbal drinks, as well as fashion items like batik.

Additionally, as part of the 'Buy Local' campaign, Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia are collaborating with local coffee business Arutala Coffee to launch a coffee bean product made in partnership with coffee farmers from Lahat, South Sumatra. This initiative follows post-harvest training provided to over 1,000 coffee farmers by Tokopedia and ShopTokopedia in collaboration with the Sustainable Coffee Platform of Indonesia (SCOPI).
