Monday, 09 Dec 2024

As a global broker committed to corporate responsibility, Octa consistently pursues socially beneficial goals worldwide. Through various charitable initiatives, Octa focuses on providing urgent and targeted support to those in need while fostering opportunities for future growth.

In total, Octa's charitable projects reached 4,792 beneficiaries around the globe in 2024. By partnering with reputable non-profit organizations, charities, and established local community members, the broker implemented 12 projects in different regions, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, and South Africa. However, for Octa, charitable activities this year are ongoing, with three more events planned for the New Year.

Here are some of Octa's most impactful charitable projects in 2024:

? In Indonesia, the broker supported a major renovation of a school in Depok, West Java, to honor the holy month of Ramadan, widely celebrated by the local community. The SD NEGERI DEPOK school urgently needed renovations, and Octa's support included strengthening all related building structures and general repairs to ensure safety and comfort for students. The current school layout anticipates an increase in student enrollment each year, promoting accessible and comfortable education.

? In Malaysia, Octa sponsored a coding bootcamp for students at Ideas International, an inclusive secondary school located in Kuala Lumpur. The bootcamp was conducted in three phases at the school from June to November, providing quality hands-on learning for students and enhancing their career opportunities. This project aims to help dedicated young individuals from diverse backgrounds receive comprehensive extracurricular education and make significant progress in their professional achievements.

? In Nigeria, Octa is helping the local community in Kanke deal with the lack of clean water by drilling much-needed boreholes. For a city with limited resources, this project is a significant improvement in health, hygiene, and the overall quality of life for the entire population. In addition to the boreholes, Octa is also contributing to a program that distributes essential food supplies to local families.

? In South Africa, Octa supports a charity project in partnership with the Johannesburg branch of IkamvaYouth, a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged youth escape poverty through education. The collaboration between Octa and IkamvaYouth offers valuable opportunities for young people from underserved communities in South Africa to develop the soft and hard skills needed in today’s job market.

With these life-changing skills, young participants in the project will have better chances of success in their chosen fields, leading to improved living standards.

The project includes 250 hours of academic tutoring and homework support sessions each year for every IkamvaYouth student.

By 2025, Octa will remain committed to its social mission and strengthen its dedication to charitable efforts in various regions to promote better living standards, stronger communities, and more accessible education.
