KAI And BI Sign Distribution Agreement For Safe And Environmentally Friendly BBMN

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), commonly referred to as KAI, has established a strategic partnership with Bank Indonesia (BI) aimed at enhancing the efficiency of distributing State-Owned Goods (BBMN) across various regions in Indonesia, particularly on the island of Java. This collaboration was formalized through the signing of a BBMN Transportation Service Agreement at the Jakarta Railway Center Ballroom on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

KAI's President Director, Didiek Hartantyo, expressed the company's commitment to supporting BI's logistical needs by leveraging its extensive experience in transportation and logistics. He stated, "This partnership aligns with our efforts to promote efficient logistics transport through railways and to reduce carbon emissions," as noted in a written statement on Wednesday.

Furthermore, this collaboration continues a strategic partnership that has been in place for over a decade, contributing to the smooth operation of payment systems and the management of the rupiah in Indonesia. BI's Executive Director of the Money Management Department, Marlison Hakim, emphasized that the use of rail transport is a strategic move to enhance the efficiency, speed, and security of BBMN distribution. "We believe that our collaboration with KAI will expedite the distribution of BBMN to all BI representative offices while prioritizing security," he explained. In a separate statement, KAI's Vice President of Public Relations, Anne Purba, detailed that the partnership encompasses various services for transporting state-owned goods with high standards of security and efficiency.

"We provide specialized baggage trains with a maximum capacity of 20 tons, air conditioning, remote monitoring CCTV, and comprehensive security equipment," she noted. KAI also prioritizes facilitating the loading and unloading of goods at both the departure and destination stations.
