Airconditioning Indonesia honors interior designers and architects for their
ideal residential works that blend aesthetics with air quality considerations. The awards
were presented during the DAIKIN Proshop Designer Award 2024 ceremony held in
Jakarta on Thursday, November 28, 2024. A total of
22 awards were given across seven categories, showcasing the best works since
the competition opened in May. This marks
the fourth year of the DAIKIN Proshop Designer Award, which has attracted over
600 participants, showing a steady increase from previous years. "This
aligns with our goal to promote awareness and a new culture of ideal living
spaces in Indonesia, combining aesthetics with air quality," said Shinji
Miyata, President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, in a
statement on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Shinji
noted that the growing number of participants reflects the prestige of the
competition, organized in collaboration with major associations supporting
architects and interior designers in Indonesia, including the Indonesian
Institute of Architects (IAI) DKI Jakarta, IAI West Java, and the Indonesian
Interior Designers Association (HDII) Jakarta. This year,
the competition not only caters to professional architects and interior
designers but also includes a category for students. The
categories are divided into professional and student groups, covering both
built projects and conceptual designs. There is
also a special category that awards based on the choice of Daniel Mananta, an
Indonesian celebrity who serves as a guest judge alongside representatives from
the association and DAIKIN. The theme
of EXPRESSION presents a challenge for all participants to express their ideas
and new approaches in creating an ideal living space that combines comfort with
aesthetic elements and air quality. Shinji
Miyata further stated that beyond being a competition, the DAIKIN Proshop
Designer Award aims to provide a platform for interior design and architecture
practitioners to share a common vision of ideal living spaces in Indonesia. "We
hope this space continues to foster new approaches from interior design and
architecture professionals that balance design beauty and air quality, ensuring
comfort and supporting user health," said Shinji. As a
Japanese air conditioning specialist with nearly 100 years of experience,
Shinji Miyata mentioned that DAIKIN is ready to support the creation of ideal
living spaces through its diverse technologies and innovations in air
conditioning products, particularly the DAIKIN Home Central series. In
addition to simplifying installation with its unique design that connects one
outdoor unit to multiple indoor units, the DAIKIN Home Central also offers a
variety of indoor unit designs.
This
variety is intentionally created to blend seamlessly and add an elegant touch
to the interior of each space according to its purpose. Additionally, it
promotes user health by maintaining humidity levels and eliminating harmful
airborne particles through layered filtration.
